Direct enzymatic determination of HDL Cholesterol without precipitating Reagent. This method utilizes in the first phase specific polianions to block the interfering lipoproteins and a specific surface-active agent to inhibit coloration of VLDL, LDL and kilo-microns in the second phase.

The intensity of the colour produced is directly proportional to the HDL cholesterol in the sample.
